Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-18
These are the terms on which we publish cosyte.com. They cover this site. They do not replace the licence on the software we publish or the agreement behind a consulting engagement.
What these terms cover
These terms cover your use of cosyte.com, the site you are reading. They are the terms on which we publish it, and they apply to reading it, linking to it and writing to us through it.
They do not govern the open-source software we publish, which carries its own licence in its own repository, and they do not govern a consulting engagement, which is governed by the written agreement for that engagement. Where a licence or an agreement says something different from this page, that licence or that agreement is the one that applies.
Using this site
You are welcome to read this site, link to it, and quote it with attribution. There is nothing to sign in to: the site has no accounts, and ordinary reading needs no permission from us.
Please do not use it in a way that stops anyone else reading it. That means no attempt to break the site, no attempt to reach parts of it we have not published, and no automated traffic heavy enough to degrade it for other people. If you want a bulk copy of something here, ask us and we will tell you the easiest way to get it.
The open-source software
The software we publish under the @cosyte namespace is offered under its own licence, in its own repository, and that licence governs what you may do with it. Nothing on this page adds to those terms, removes anything from them, or changes them.
Read the licence in the repository you are installing from. It is the one that applies to the code you run, and it is the document to hand to whoever reviews your dependencies. We publish the code so you can evaluate our work before you talk to us.
Consulting engagements
Consulting work is governed by the written agreement for that engagement and by nothing on this page. An enquiry through the contact form or by email creates no engagement and no obligation on either side, and it settles nothing about scope, price or timing.
What this site says about how we work describes our practice. It is not an offer and it is not a commitment. An engagement starts when both sides have signed an agreement that says it has started.
What this site is not
This site is not legal advice and it is not clinical advice. Nothing here is a representation about the regulatory position of any organisation, including yours.
The correct way to read what we publish about the software is that it provides capable technical controls. Whether a system built with it meets an obligation is a property of that deployment, and it belongs to whoever runs the deployment. We can describe what our code does; we cannot certify your system, and nothing on this site attempts to.
No warranty
This site and its content are provided as they are. We do not warrant that the site will be available, that it will be free of errors, or that anything published here fits a purpose you have in mind for it.
We check what we publish and we correct what we find wrong. That is a practice rather than a guarantee. The software we publish carries its own warranty terms in its own licence, and those terms govern it.
Limitation of liability
We are not liable for what anyone does with this site or with what they read on it. That covers a decision taken on the basis of something published here, and a loss that follows from the site being unavailable or from a page being wrong.
If you need something on this site to be reliable for a decision that matters, ask us about it directly and get the answer in writing under an agreement that covers it. That is what an engagement is for, and this page is not a substitute for one.
Changes to these terms
We change this page when what we publish, or how we publish it, changes. The date at the top of the page records the last change, and the version published here is the current one.
We do not keep earlier versions on the site and we do not notify anyone of a change. If you keep using the site after a change, the version you are reading is the one that applies to you.
Contact
Write to hello@cosyte.com with a question about these terms. That address reaches us directly and we answer our own email. We do not promise a reply time.
If your question is about a licence for the published software, the licence in that repository is the answer, and we are happy to talk it through with you.
